Speaker bios

Professor Youngjin Yoo is a recognised expert in digital innovation and entrepreneurship. He holds the prestigious Elizabeth M. and William C. Treuhaft Professorship at Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management, where he also serves as Associate Dean of Research. As the founding faculty co-director of xLab, an interdisciplinary center for responsible digital innovation, he has spearheaded numerous initiatives at the forefront of technological advancement.

Professor Yoo’s academic achievements are globally recognized. He is an Association of Information Systems Fellow and has held visiting appointments at renowned institutions, including the London School of Economics, Warwick Business School, and LUISS Business School. His research, with over 170 scholarly articles cited more than 26,000 times, has appeared in leading journals such as MIS Quarterly and Organization Science. He has also secured over $8 million in research funding from organizations like NASA, the National Science Foundation, and Samsung Electronics.

Beyond academia, Professor Yoo has extensive experience advising and collaborating with industry leaders. He has worked with Samsung on digital design strategy, served as Innovation Architect for University Hospitals in Cleveland, and taught digital strategy programs for LG Academy, including an online course now available on Udemy. His insights have also benefited companies such as Penske, Goodyear, and Progressive Insurance. Professor Yoo’s wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience make him uniquely equipped to deliver actionable insights on how businesses can harness digital innovation for growth and success.

Jan Damsgaard is professor at the Department of Digitalization, Copenhagen Business School, Denmark. Jan’s research focuses on digital transformation and disruption and includes topics like platform economics, AI, IoT, Blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Before joining CBS, he worked at leading universities in USA, China, Finland and Australia.

Jan has just been appointed to become member of the Danish government´s AI task force´s expert committee that will focus on advising the task force about how Danmark can become world leader in the application of AI in the public sector. Jan has also written the bestselling book “AI – between sense and sensibility”. Jan also serves in the board of SME:digital which supports Danish SMEs digital transformation.

Carsten Sørensen is a DIREC Professor of Digital Transformation at Copenhagen Business School and an expert in digital innovation. With over three decades of experience, he has held prominent academic positions, including 25 years at the London School of Economics and affiliations with leading institutions in Denmark, Sweden, and the UK.

Professor Sørensen has extensive experience leading impactful international and EU-funded research projects, with a combined portfolio exceeding DKK 35 million. He was instrumental in founding the Viktoria Institute in Gothenburg and co-founded The Internet Project, focusing on digital innovation during the mid-1990s. His widely published research spans topics such as distributed ledger technology and cryptocurrency, and he developed LSE’s first course on these transformative technologies. Beyond academia, Professor Sørensen has advised prominent organizations, including Google, Mastercard, Microsoft, Intel, and the Danish Ministry of Science, providing expertise on digital transformation strategies.
