An Open, Digital and Sovereign Europe – How Can Denmark Lead the Way?

Join us at this conference that brings together businesses, experts, and decision-makers to set the course for Denmark’s digital future.

TDC Erhverv, Fellowmind, and Microsoft invite you to a conference on 27 November at Matrikel1 in Copenhagen. We are gathering Danish and international experts, companies, and political decision-makers for an open discussion about Denmark’s digital ambitions in an era of artificial intelligence and geopolitical uncertainty.

At the conference, we turn the debate about digital sovereignty upside down. Instead of talking about everything we don’t want from technology, we begin with our ambitions.

  • How can Denmark maintain a strong digital position while also helping set the direction for Europe?
  • What must we be able to do ourselves, and where should we collaborate? How do we balance innovation with regulation?
  • And in what ways can we ensure control of data in an uncertain world?

The conference picks up the momentum from Europe’s heads of state and government, who recently concluded that Europe must accelerate digital transformation, strengthen its digital sovereignty, and reinforce its open digital ecosystems — and that this depends on stronger international partnerships and close cooperation with trusted partners on innovation and governance.

The afternoon will feature talks and debates with some of the strongest voices from business, academia, and the political sphere.

André Rogaczewski (Netcompany), Jan Damsgaard (CBS), and Mette Louise Kaagaard (Microsoft) will discuss visions for Denmark’s AI future and technological cooperation in a new geopolitical era.

Max Sejbæk (Fellowmind), Suzanne Lauritzen (raffle.ai), and Thomas Riisgaard Hansen (DIREC) will address how Denmark can make the best use of technology and build the next generation of startups and scaleups with global potential.

Jacob Herbst (Cyber Security Council), Mille Østerlund (KOMBIT), Andreas Espersen (DI Digital), and Martin Nissen (TDC Erhverv) will offer concrete insights into how Danish businesses and public authorities can navigate today’s complex, unpredictable risk landscape — without grinding to a halt.

Stinus Lindgreen (R) and Alexander Ryle (M) will wrap up with a look into the political crystal ball: What future do they foresee for digital Denmark and Europe?
