DIREC is going to Folkemødet 2026

You have heard it many times before: technology has become a matter of security policy. That is precisely why there has never been a more important moment to foster a strong public debate on digital research and innovation. Digital technologies are shaping our democracy, our economy, our security, and our everyday lives.

So let’s start the conversation:

  • Which digital domains can Denmark realistically claim leadership in if we want to position ourselves in a world dominated by tech giants?
  • How should our innovation models be designed to keep pace with technologies that are evolving exponentially?
  • What does it mean for researchers and companies when their work may carry military or geopolitical implications? And can we still meaningfully describe technology as politically neutral?

If you work with digital research and innovation, we would love to hear from you. We are working to bring more of these issues onto the agenda — the more voices involved, the stronger the debate.
